Yes, you have to be naked. Walking to and from shower and in communal shower. No cubicles, all open and naked.

When we were members at David Lloyd my wife used to get lots of stares while naked in the changing room, presumably due to her very large labia.

Ive talked to other women whilst in the changing room and quite often in the shower but I wouldn't say I was being chatted up.

Yeah...I walk naked in the locker room. I'm not doing laps around the joint at the club...but wherever I need to get to (shower, sauna, etc).

And yes...I'm comfortable chatting naked.

The main purpose of being naked in a changing room is to either change or to have a shower. That said, I have often remained starkers for longer than needed I suppose.
I wouldn't talk to someone I didn't know well about her body but have had conversations of the like with good friends during nudity before.

Movies and TV often portray women's locker rooms with women lounging around nude and rubbing lotion on their bodies after their shower. I wonder how true to life this portrayal is?

Husband here but I have asked my wife about this as she regularly has to change and shower with many other very attractive coworkers during her shift.
Though I wish it was like you said, from what she says, no it is not like that at all. She says that though most of her coworkers do have good figures, that they usually just turn their backs and while most dont make a big deal of hiding everything away, they usually dont go out of their way to be seen either. She says there are 2 dykes who do purposely face the other women when they are showering, changing, putting on lotion etc, but the other women avoid them.

My wife does not go looking at other women but sometimes a glimpse is unavoidable and luckily she keeps me in the loop as to which of her coworkers is fully shaved, who has a landing strip, who has dangly flaps etc

A few years ago, the second wife and I would go to motorcycle events. Several years in a row, we would go to the EasyRiders motorcycle rodeo finals in Chillicothe, Ohio. Was held at the Ross county fairgrounds.
Anything goes there. Lots of naked people, one of the events was the wet clothes contest, and yes, many women all of different shapes and sizes. No inhibitions there.
Yes it was a camping event and they had showers. Male in one, women in the other. Wife dragged me in the women's along with sister. We had no issues with being nude, skinny dipped often. So we were at one of the many showers, divided but open. Guys were in there too. No one cared. Just washed ourselves and got out.

Last time Mrs RC was naked in the gym showers she was stared at by everyone else in there for ages. Probably because it was the male locker room, but hey....
